We generated strand-specific RNA-seq libraries (using the Illumina TruSeq Stranded mRNA Library protocol) for 5 tissues (brain, heart, liver, kidney and ovaries) from a female green iguana (Iguana iguana) and 5 tissues (brain, heart, liver, kidney and ovaries) from a female leopard-lizard (Gambelia wislizenii). RNA quality was assessed using a Fragment Analyzer machine from Advanced Analytical. Each library was sequenced on Illumina HiSeq 2000 platform at the Massive Sequencing Unity of the University of Mexico (UNAM). At least 17 million sequencing reads (100-nt, single-end) were produced for each library.
