Texture affects many mechanical properties of materials, such as formability and thermal conductivity. Neutron texture diffraction provides insight into the deformation mechanisms of many materials, including metals, alloys, and geological samples, enabling understanding of how materials respond to external forces and stresses. The application of neutron texture analysis at ISIS remains limited, to a large extent due to the lack of user-friendly texture analysis software. A joint project between ISIS and SINQ@PSI aims to develop texture software within the MANTID framework for spatially resolved texture analysis on ENGIN-X, IMAT and POLDI. This Mantid project aims to produce software for users within 18 months.
