Why most girls don't choose STEM Major in pakistan?

This study explores why most women in Pakistan do not choose STEM fields despite having academic potential. Surveying 920 female students, it finds that low self-confidence, limited teacher support, lack of role models, cultural restrictions, and concerns about work–life balance discourage STEM participation. Psychological and social barriers, not ability, are key factors. The study calls for gender-sensitive education, mentorship, and awareness programs to promote women’s inclusion in STEM and achieve gender equality.
