Employment of maritime companies (SBI 611)

The results in this table come from the so-called production statistics (PS) for the shipping companies. Production statistics are in the current form since the beginning of the 70's, they have been compiled and give an annual picture of the ins and outs of the business community expressed in financial statements of operation and loss and profit. This data they are an important source of policy and practice in themselves. The Netherlands, but they are also a source for (mandatory) deliveries to Eurostat, the European Statistical Office. Finally, they become intensively used in the composition of overarching statistical overviews such as the National Accounts. Data available from 2000 onwards. With effect from the 2004 reporting year, the publication ended. Frequency: discontinued Changes compared to the previous version (Current version) The CBS has the increase methodology of the production statistics on the reporting year 2003 (PS2003) adjusted. This has been done because of the problems with the increase of the sample results (especially small ones) companies) by population totals. These are different sectors of service and construction. The adjustment in the increase methodology also has some effect on the results of the employment in maritime transport. To use a uniform methodology these results are re-established. (Version 26-07-2005) Final data for the year 2003 have been added.(see also paragraph 4, Releasepolicy). The results 2000 to 2002 have been revised. This revision concerns mainly a methodological change. In addition, there are smaller improvements made as a result of becoming available of new information. The figures refer to all companies with 20 or more employees (active persons from the 2002 reporting year) who during the year existed and on smaller companies where on 1 December of the year at least one person worked 15 hours or more per week. For this methodological change, the marginally active companies were and the small businesses that had stopped before December 1st were included. Reasons for this change are: — better alignment with European definitions; — improvement of quality by simplifying observation at small businesses. The recalculations resulting from the methodological change are also used to process met data in the statistical results. DUTCH:
