资源简介:

This dataset was used for research described in the article The Impact of Urbanized Areas on the Spatial Characteristics of Deep Convection Initiation in the Central United States published in the American Meteorological Society's Journal of Applied Meteorology and Climatology. Data key Time: The initiation time (in UTC) of a deep convection initiation point (DCIP) YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm Latitude: The latitude at the time of initiation of a DCIP. degrees north Longitude: The longitude at the time of initiation of a DCIP. degrees east City 1: The first city (by alphabetical order if attributed to two cities) to which a DCIP is associated. City 1 Relative Location: The wind-relative (to city 1) sector of a DCIP. direct downwind, direct upwind, peripheral downwind, peripheral upwind City 1 UHI: The UHI magnitude class at city 1 at the initiation time of a DCIP “0” indicates no UHI, “1” indicates a non-strong UHI (), and “2” indicates a strong UHI () City 1 Diurnal: The diurnal condition at city 1 at the initiation time of a DCIP. “Day” indicates after sunrise and before sunset defined based on https://gml.noaa.gov/grad/solcalc/solareqns.PDF and “night” otherwise. City 1 Wind: The wind magnitude class at city 1 at the initiation time of a DCIP. “Light” refers to wind speeds of less than 5 kt, “medium” refers to wind speeds of 5-15 kt, and “strong” refers to wind speeds of greater than 15 kt City 2, City 2 Relative Location, City 2 UHI, City 2 Diurnal, City 2 Wind: Only used when a DCIP falls within of multiple cities.
