Quarterly banking industry climate index in China Q4 2017-Q2 2023

In the second quarter of 2023, the banking climate index in China had a value of 69.6 percent. It indicated that 69.6 percent of the heads of Chinese banking institutions assessed that the banking industry was in a good or expanding state. The index value dropped in the first quarter of 2020 when COVID-19 broke out in the country and dropped again after the country was hit by the omicron variant of the virus.
