Detection of Schistosoma mansoni using PCR and LAMP techniques compared to Cercariae shedding in field collected Biomphalaria sp across Gezira State, Sudan

This study aimed to detect parasitic infection with S.mansoni in field collected Biomphalaria pfeifferi from Gezira State, Sudan by comparing cercarial shedding data with PCR assay using (Sm F/R and ND5 primers) and LAMP technique to determine the most sensitive and specific method in S.mansoni screening in field snails to improve regular surveillance system and control measures in endemic areas particularly in accordance with mass treatment campaigns.
