WebGIS 3D Geological Subsurface Model for the Einstein Telescope Study Area in Sardinia (Italy)
收藏资源简介:
The Einstein Telescope (ET) research infrastructure is planned as Europe’s next-generation underground observatory for gravitational-wave detection. To support site characterization in Sardinia (Italy), an advanced 3D multi-scale digital geological and geotechnical model was developed, covering a 450 km² area down to 1 km depth by integrating geological mapping, borehole data, geophysical surveys, and geomechanical properties. To ensure broad accessibility, an interactive WebGIS application is made publicly available for exploring and querying the 3D model, its structural framework, and subsurface property prognoses along the planned underground infrastructure layouts. The WebGIS also incorporates the high-resolution Digital Elevation Model (DEM) of the study area, acquired as part of the ETIC project, providing precise surface topographic context for the 3D geological environment. While raw source files are archived under restricted access to preserve data integrity and allow controlled sharing upon request, full visual and analytical exploration of the 3D geological environment is freely accessible via the WebGIS application at: https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/61708e52dea14994a83d32019fd92f7a
