The Spine Endoscopic Atlas (SEA) is a comprehensive dataset specifically designed for the segmentation of surgical instruments used in endoscopic spine surgery (ESS). Given the steep learning curve of ESS and the increasing importance of artificial intelligence (AI) systems in improving procedural accuracy and safety, we believe that our dataset will significantly contribute to the development and enhancement of AI models in this field.
The SEA dataset comprises 48,498 images and 10,650 instrument segmentations from real-world ESS, with a focus on instruments commonly used in these procedures, such as bipolars, graspers, drills, punches, dissectors, and scissors. We collected data from two medical centers, including Huazhong University of Science and Technology Union Shenzhen hospital and Huidong Jianqiang hospital, to ensure a diverse representation of instruments and scenarios encountered during surgery. The SEA provides a unique combination of classified and unclassified data, supporting both supervised and semi-supervised learning approaches in instrument segmentation.
脊柱内镜图谱(Spine Endoscopic Atlas, SEA)是一款专为内镜脊柱手术(endoscopic spine surgery, ESS)中手术器械分割任务打造的综合性数据集。鉴于内镜脊柱手术学习门槛较高,且人工智能(Artificial Intelligence, AI)系统在提升手术操作精度与安全性方面的重要性日益凸显,本数据集有望为该领域人工智能模型的开发与优化提供关键支撑。
本脊柱内镜图谱数据集包含来自真实内镜脊柱手术场景的48498张图像与10650份器械分割标注,聚焦此类手术中常用的各类器械,包括双极电凝镊、抓钳、骨钻、咬骨钳、剥离器及剪刀等。本数据集采集自两家医学中心,分别为华中科技大学协和深圳医院与惠东健强医院,以确保覆盖手术中可能遇到的多样化器械与手术场景。本数据集兼具已标注与未标注数据的独特组合形式,可支撑器械分割任务中的监督学习与半监督学习两类研究路径。
