Replication Data for: "The Social Lives of Books: Reading Victorian Literature on Goodreads"

This dataset contains links to the code used to scrape Goodreads for "The Social Lives of Books: Reading Victorian Literature on Goodreads," as well as instructions for using it. It also contains the data for the top Victorian books on Goodreads, versus the MLA bibliography, versus Open Syllabus and calculations for linear regression in the article. We also provide the data for top books read by the two Goodreads book clubs discussed in the article. Full reviews from Goodreads discussed in article are withheld for reasons of use privacy in compliance with recommendations from the University of Calgary ethics committee, but we provide tables of likes, user rating, and date of review posted for the top 300 reviews of Jane Eyre, The Secret Garden, and a Tale of Two Cities.
