Data set - Causes and outcomes of sepsis in southeast Asia: a multinational multicentre cross-sectional study (NCT02157259)

This is an observational study to identify the etiology, management, and outcome of community-acquired sepsis and severe sepsis in children and adults in Southeast Asia. The study will take place in Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, the partner countries of SEAICRN. Potential study patients will be any patients (both children and adults) who are presented at the hospital with community-acquired sepsis or severe sepsis and require hospitalization.<br>The fields contained in the database are as follows:1. <b>id</b>: Unique identifier for each patient2. <b>country</b>: The code of the country where each study hospital locates; 2 defines Thailand, 3 defines Vietnam and 4 defines Indonesia3. <b>site</b>: The code of each study hospital4. <b>gender</b>: The gender of patients5. <b>age_group_1</b>: The age group of patients Children and Adults6. <b>age_group_2</b>: The age group of patients; 1 mo - &lt;1 year, ≥1 - &lt;5 years, ≥5 - &lt;18 years, ≥18 - &lt;40 years, ≥40 - &lt;60 years and ≥60 years old 7. <b>severe_sepsis</b>: severe sepsis defined by Surviving Sepsis Campaign 2012 for adult patients, and by International paediatric sepsis consensus conference 2005 for paediatric patients8. <b>severe_sofa</b>: sepsis defined by having SOFA score more than or equal to 2 according to the 2014 task force for adult patients; missing value for paediatric patients9. <b>mortality28</b>: 28-day mortality outcome. Mortality outcome was not available in 19 children and 5 adults who withdrew from the study prior to 28-day follow-up, and in another 13 children and 6 adults who could not be contacted for 28-day
