Continuous Permafrost and Microbial Survival in the Arctic Circumpolar Permafrost Region during the Late Quaternary: Insights into Climate Change and Future

This Zenodo repository contains all data and scripts associated with the manuscript “Continuous Permafrost and Microbial Survival in the Arctic Circumpolar Permafrost Region during the Late Quaternary: Insights into Climate Change and Future” (Manuscript Number: QUATINT-D-25-00402). The deposited materials include the full set of computational scripts used for species distribution modelling, paleoclimatic reconstructions, and temperature-dependent microbial decay analyses. In addition, all input datasets required to reproduce the analyses are provided, including the Excel files containing permafrost occurrence data and associated bioclimatic variables. The repository also contains the raw spatial outputs generated by the modelling workflows, including present-day, palaeoclimatic, and future permafrost suitability maps. These raster products are provided in their original, unprocessed form to ensure full reproducibility and transparency of the modelling framework. All scripts are intended to enable complete replication of the Random Forest-based modelling pipeline, including data preprocessing, model training, cross-validation, spatial prediction, and feature importance analysis across the Arctic Circumpolar Permafrost Region.
