FOXP3+ Regulatory T Cells Require TBET to Regulate Activated CD8+ T Cells During Recovery from Influenza Infection

Our results demonstrate that TBET+ Treg cells regulate the numbers of activated CD8+ T cells expressing CD69 in the lung following influenza infection. Trm cells accumulated independently of Treg cells but mirrored transcriptional changes observed in activated CD8+ T cells following Treg cell depletion. Overall design: CD8+ T cells expressing CD69, CD69 and CD103, or neither were flow cytometry sorted from the lungs of Foxp3-DTR mice treated with diphteria toxin or PBS on day 14 to 22 post-inoculation with influenza A/WSN/33 H1N1 virus and subjected to transcriptional profiling with RNA-sequencing.
