Penn State University Cover Crop Cocktails: Deep Soil Inorganic Nitrogen Data

The dataset is a cleaned and summarized version of data collected from 2012-2022 at the Pennsylvania State University Cover Crop Cocktails agricultural research site in State College, Pennsylvania for deep soil inorganic nitrogen. Deep soil samples are collected annually at the end of the cover crop growing season to monitor potential impacts of winter cover crops on nitrogen leaching potential from agricultural soils. Data include sampling study year, sampling plot information (entry, block, plot), cover crop treatment, soil core depth segment information (depth code and depth in cm), and sample values (total nitrogen in mg N/kg soil).
