Hacia un enfoque crítico del Diario de mi vida de José María Lamana como fuente testimonial y documento lingüístico

Starting from the Diario a dos voces, the union of the diary written "in the heat of the moment" by José María Lamana in 1939 with the one reconstructed by his son Manuel almost forty years later, the study observes the textual modifications that José María's work, the Diario de mi vida, undergoes in the typewritten text prepared by Manuel in 1985 and later published by Seix Barral in 2013. The textual testimony, written in José María's own handwriting, is described, elements useful for reconstructing the exile's preoccupations are detected, and the omissions, unintentionally set in the text, are examined. This article focuses specifically on what was written by José María, leaving out what was added by Manuel. The result is a consideration of a direct witness, stripped of any artistic or evocative intention. Reading the Diario de mi vida can be useful to avoid falling into the aberrations that allow the establishment of discrimination, oppression and other crimes committed by authoritarian or totalitarian regimes.
