The series consists of a list of keywords used in establishing classifications or headings for all files contained in General Correspondence Files, Alpha-Numeric System, VPRS 9694. The alphabetical list of subject or activity terms provides the primary heading for each file and is provided with an alpha-numeric file identification (for example, Government correspondence is located in files with the alpha-numeric code of G41). The listing also contains scope notes that provide more detail on the subjects or types of record filed under each classification.
