# Application Information

InfoSum Beacons for Snowflake deploys an [InfoSum Beacon](https://www.infosum.com/products/beacons) inside your Snowflake account.

This enables you to analyse and query data, configure collaboration workflows, and generate privacy-safe outputs for downstream activation and measurement, while keeping your Snowflake-based source data under your control in your Snowflake account.

## Prerequisites

- An active InfoSum Platform account
- An InfoSum Cloud Vault and valid Snowflake Beacon license key, obtained via the InfoSum Platform
- A Snowflake Database and Schema as your Beacon's source data

## Network Usage and Data Handling

The app requires outbound connectivity to InfoSum-managed endpoints to function. Outbound connectivity is implemented via use of Snowflake External Access Integrations. Information on the required access is presented and must be approved at the point of installation.
