The study aims to characterise the diversity of a range of soil organisms from a common set of soil samples collected worldwide. Group specific primers will be used to amplify the DNA of different eukaryotic and prokaryotic organism groups. The results will be used to answer questions about global biodiversity and soil community ecology.
