Rotterdam Atmospheric Measurement Network RAMN - Davis003 weather station data at Westmaas

<strong>Description:</strong> In-situ measurements of temperature, pressure, relative humidity, rain and wind by a Davis Vantage Pro2 weather station named "Davis-003" at Westmaas, The Netherlands. Westmaas is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland located approximately 15 km south of the city centre of Rotterdam, south of the old Meuse. The same site also features a Parsivel optical disdrometer "PAR004_Westmaas" (since October 2021), and a vertically pointing micro-rain radar "MRR003_Westmaas" (since June 2022). All sensors are placed on top of an air quality monitoring container belonging to TNO, at a height of approx. 4 meters. The container is located approximately 1.5 km to the West of the village of Westmaas, in a predominantly flat and rural area.<br><strong>Format:</strong> Each NetCDF file covers a full month of observations. The temporal resolution is 1 minute. Data are provided "as is", without any post-processing. The NetCDF files contain all relevant information about all the variables, attributes and units. The global attributes of the NetCDF files contain important information about the type of sensor, logging software, project contributors and history of the dataset. If a monthly file is missing, no data are available for this month.<br><strong>Relevance:</strong> Weather station data provide useful information about local variations in temperature, humidity, wind and precipitation up to a few hundred meters around the observation site. Collecting good weather data in urban environments is challenging but crucial for understanding and managing the unique micro-climates created by dense buildings, infrastructure, and human activities. This data can be used for scientific purposes, to support urban planning, public health, and climate adaptation strategies. The Rotterdam Atmospheric Measurement Network RAMN was established with the help of TU Delft strategic funds, in collaboration with the Ruisdael Observatory.<br><strong>Notes:</strong> This dataset is updated approximately every 2-3 months. Please reach out to the authors if you wish to get access to the most recent observations.<br><strong>Known issues:</strong>Connectivity issues resulted in the loss of approx. 2 months of data between February 2024 and April 2024.The issue was resolved on 18 April 2024 when a new RaspberryPi (Pi Zero 2W) logger was installed, to replace the previous Pi Zero.
