Midgut microbiota composition of the adult non-hematophagous mosquito Toxorhynchites theobaldi (Diptera: Culicidae) from Brazil Raw sequence reads

The midgut of mosquitoes is an organ colonization for several micro-organisms that can impact the physiology and development of these insects. Recently, numerous studies have investigated the midgut microbiota of mosquito vectors. However, the microbial community of non-vector mosquitoes is still little explored. The mosquitoes of the Toxorhynchites genus are a non-hematophagous species that is quite used as a biological control agent against vector mosquitoes but very little is known about their biology.
