ADAPT-GPP: A long-term (2001-2024) global hourly gross primary productivity dataset

The ADAPT-GPP archive provides a comprehensive dataset of terrestrial gross primary productivity (GPP) generated using a dynamic light response curve approach. This data product offers a high-frequency record of terrestrial photosynthesis, specifically designed to capture diurnal patterns of vegetation activity. By resolving sub-daily dynamics, the dataset serves as a valuable resource for facilitating studies related to ecosystem functional properties, such as photosynthetic responses to environmental stress.This dataset includes global hourly and daily-to-annual aggregated GPP at a spatial resolution of 0.05° from 2001 to 2024. The hourly dataset (01_HOURLY) is provided in NetCDF4 format (*.nc), and each NetCDF4 file contains 24 hourly GPP time steps for a single day (umol CO2 m-2 s-1). The daily-to-annual datasets (02_DAILY, 03_MONTHLY, 04_YEARLY) are provided in NetCDF4 format (*.nc), and each NetCDF4 file contains aggregated GPP at each time scale (g C m-2 day-1, g C m-2 month-1, g C m-2 year-1) with mean Pmax (umol CO2 m-2 s-1).
