Itasy, Vakinankaratra - Madagascar - 2022-2023, Land cover map

The land use maps published here were produced for the communes studied by the DINAAMICC project for the period 2022-2023 (based on GPS collected in the field in March 2023). They partially cover the Itasy and Vakinankaratra regions. The reference database used to produce this map is listed in the "Related datasets" category below. It consists of 3726 polygons. The very high spatial resolution images used are a mosaic of Spot6/7 images acquired in 2022 and 2023 and made available by DINAMIS (https://dinamis.data-terra.org). To replace the areas covered by clouds, we used a Planet Scope image (Basemaps) downloaded via NICFI: Norway's International Climate and Forests Initiative Satellite Data Program (https://www.planet.com/nicfi). The Sentinel-2s used are level 2A images distributed by THEIA and acquired between 1 September 2022 and 23 June 2023. The overall accuracy of the map is 87%.
