The breeding bird fauna of the Wolfbauernhochalm

Almost all typical species of this altitude could be observed on the Wolfbauernhochalm. Compared to the other alpine pastures studied, there are no observations of Alpine Brownelle, Amsel, Auerhuhn, Bachstelze, Mountaineering Singer, Dorngrassmücke, Eichelhäher, Mountain stilt, Greypecker, Greenfink, House Redtail, Colkrabe, Singdrossel, Summer Gold Chicken, Stone Schmätzer, Tower Falcon and Water Amsel (Table 7). The cuckoo was only found on the Scheucheggalm and is located in the area of selten. The stone scabber also occurs only in very low densities in the Gesäuse. The Kolkrabe and the tower falcon are to be expected as food guests. Suitable habitats are missing for Alpine brownelles, brook and mountain stilts, house red tail and water amsel. The mountain pieper could only be detected on the Wolfbauernhochalm with a couple in the western part of the alpine pasture on a larger, open area.
