Identifying_infection_relevant_and_stress_resistance_genes_in_K__pneumoniae

Klebsiella pneumoniae (Kpn) is an emerging opportunistic pathogen that causes a variety of infections, including pneumonia, liver abscesses, and chronic infections of burns or wounds. Understanding pathogenesis of Kpn is confounded by the variety of diseases associated with this organism, and by the diversity of clinically-relevant strains. We have used Tradis to investigate gene essentiality and in vitro fitness requirements in selected Kpn strains.
