The main purpose of this study is to study the changes of circRNA expression profile during red blood cell storage, predict the differentially expressed circRNA, and explore its possible biological functions and molecular mechanisms in RBC storage lesions. The expression level of each circRNA in high-throughput sequencing data was statistically analyzed and annotated. Volcano map, KEGG enrichment analysis and GO analysis were used to further analyze the differential genes. A total of 2586 known circRNAs and 6216 newly discovered circRNAs were found. KEEG enrichment analysis showed that the host genes enrichment of circRNAs were high in the following pathways: cAMP signaling pathway, ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis, apoptosis, adhesion, MAPK signaling pathway, cystine methionine metabolism, RNA degradation, RNA transport, TGF-beta, and actin regulatory pathways.
