Hospital emergency data – SOS Doctors related to the COVID-19 outbreak in France

Public Health France’s mission is to improve and protect the health of populations. During the health crisis linked to the COVID-19 outbreak, Santé publique France is in charge of monitoring and understanding the dynamics of the epidemic, anticipating the different scenarios and putting in place actions to prevent and limit the transmission of this virus on the national territory. The data are at the department level on metropolitan France and overseas departments. This dataset presents the following data: Daily data from SOS doctors and hospital emergencies by department, gender and age group of the patient: number of emergency visits due to suspicion of COVID-19, total number of visits to emergencies, number of hospitalisations among emergency room visits for suspicion of COVID-19, total number of medical procedures SOS Doctors for suspicion of COVID-19, number of medical procedures SOS Doctors. Please note that: * The case reporting system is not exhaustive and the number of reporting institutions varies over time; * Some patients, present in the hospital database at a given time, are removed from the database by healthcare institutions when the patient’s biological outcome is negative in relation to COVID-19; * For some patients, the age class has not been identified in the database. This may lead to a discrepancy between the sum of all age classes of an indicator and the total number of that indicator; * For some patients, sex has not been identified in the database. This can cause a discrepancy between the H/F sum of an indicator and the total number of that indicator. ** Enrichment** iso-3166 codes and geographic locations have been added.
