DOUshantuo Negative Carbon isotope Excursion repository for quantitative analysis (DOUNCEraq)

The DOUNCEraq is a carbonate carbon isotope database for the Ediacaran Shuram/DOUNCE/Wonoka event, which is widely considered the largest negative carbonate carbon isotope excursion in Earth history. The database encompasses data from 156 sections and boreholes published between 1998 and 2024. Each data entry includes carbonate carbon isotope values, corresponding stratigraphic heights, lithological and facies information, and the geographic (GPS) coordinates for each section. Further details are available in our previous review paper, "Meta-analysis of the DOUNCE event (Shuram/Wonoka excursion): Pattern, variation, causal mechanism, and global correlation" (Earth-Science Reviews). A subsequent modeling study utilizing this database ("Revisiting the oxidant budget of the Shuram-DOUNCE event" in Communications in Earth & Environment) is also highly relevant.
