Spruce budworm, Choristoneura fumiferana, species complex Genotyping by Sequencing

Study goals: to be used for population genetics, systematics, phylogenetics, phylogenomics, host association, pheromone association, hybridization zone, and migration studies. Relevance: the spruce budworm is a destructive defoliator of conifers in North America and the ecological and biological understanding gained by this genetic study will further our ability to manage this pest. The genetic interactions of the species of this complex provide an excellent framework in which to ask and answer many evolutionary questions.
