Period-bounce cataclysmic variables (CVs) are systems where a white dwarfaccretes from a late-type donor having reached a point where the orbital periodevolution reverses. A large portion of the CV population between 40% and 70%is predicted to be made up of period-bouncers however due to their intrinsicfaintness only a few of these systems have been observed so far. An X-raydetection is crucial for identifying period-bounce CVs as it provides proof ofaccretion from the substellar companion onto the white dwarf because in thistype of system the coronal emission of the donor is below the sensitivity ofcurrent instruments. With this XMM-Newton survey we complete our X-ray databaseof period-bounce candidates. [truncated! Please see actual data for full text]
