Living Spaces (LOR) in Berlin

By decision of 3 June 2004, the House of Representatives of Berlin gave the Senate the mandate to “uniform planning regions for specialist planning in Berlin”. A working group of representatives of the Senate administrations for urban development; Health, social and consumer protection; Education, youth and sport; Economics, work and women, as well as for the Interior and the Statistical Office (StaLa — Federfuhrend) have prepared, in close cooperation with the district planning, the introduction of a new hierarchy in the Regional Reference System (RBS). The new world-oriented spatial hierarchy should be ressortual, regionally and holistically usable.
