This study examines the effects of new-generation insecticides, tolfenpyrad and cyantraniliprole, on the gut microbiota of the Asian honey bee, Apis cerana. Gut microbes are vital for digestion, immune function, and protection against pathogens. Exposure to agrochemicals can disrupt microbial communities, weakening bee health and colony productivity. Despite their widespread use, the sublethal impacts of tolfenpyrad and cyantraniliprole remain poorly characterized. By analyzing shifts in microbial composition and diversity, this study aims to reveal hidden risks to bee populations. The findings will contribute to safer pesticide practices and the conservation of A. cerana, a key pollinator in Asian ecosystems.
