Safranal inhibits mast cell activation and alleviated OVA induced asthma model in vivo

Mast cells are related to many allergic diseases including asthma, systemic anaphylaxis etc. Many compounds derived from Chinese herbal medicine has promising effect on stabilizing mast cell and decrease inflammatory mediator production. Safranal, one of the active compounds from Crocus sativus. showed many anti-inflammatory properties. In this study we showed the effect of Safranal on inhibiting mast cell activation, alleviating mast cell mediated systemic anaphylaxis and asthma.
