16S rRNA gut microbiome samples wildlife

This data makes up three datasets included in the manuscript "Accounting for phylogeny and abundance allows for consistent comparison of core faecal microbiome diversity indices across host species" by Risely et al. This study assesses the impact of prevalence thresholds and alpha and beta diversity. The data here consists of faecal microbiome 16S rRNA samples (V4 region) from the species Suricata suricatta (n = 137), Carollia perspicillata (n = 169), and Microcebus grisorufus (n = 182). Other datasets included in this study can be found under BioProjects PRJEB11419 (Humans - American Gut), PRJNA715350 (Proechimys semispinosus from Panama), PRJNA485732 (Phoenicopterus roseus from France and Spain), and PRJNA385545 (Calidris ruficollis from Australia). Cervus elaphus samples were also included and can be downloaded from Dryad (https://doi.org/10.5061/dryad.7r22vb1).
