资源简介:
The English Indices of Deprivation 2025 provide an evidence-based picture of where and how disadvantage exists. It is a vital tool for identifying inequality and targeting funding and public services where they are most needed. Each small neighbourhood (Lower Super Output Area) in the country is measured for deprivation. There are 33,755 LSOAs in England and 200 of these are in Leicester Local Authority. These LSOAs are assigned a score and this is ranked with 1 being most deprived. Ranked LSOAs are organised into deciles or quintiles. The main measure is the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) and this brings together data covering seven different aspects or 'domains' of deprivation into a weighted overall index:  Income; Employment; Education, Skills and Training (with sub-domains for Adults and Children); Health Deprivation and Disability; Crime; Barriers to Housing and Services (with sub-domains for Geographical Barriers and Wider Barriers); Living Environment (with sub domains for Indoors and Outdoors). There are also two supplementary domains - Income Deprivation Affecting Children Index (IDACI) and Income Deprivation Affecting Older People (IDAOPI). Scores: Each LSOA has been assigned a deprivation score where a higher score is a more deprived position. Scores are presented for each domain and for the overall IMD. Ranks: Each LSOA has been assigned a deprivation rank where 1 represents the most deprived nationally and 33,755 is the least deprived nationally. Ranks are presented for each domain and for the overall IMD. Deciles: Each LSOA has been an assigned a deprivation decile where 1 represents the 10% most deprived nationally and 10, the 10% least deprived nationally. Deciles are presented for each domain and for the overall IMD. Quintiles: Each LSOA has been an assigned a deprivation quintile where 1 represents the 20% most deprived nationally and 10, the 20% least deprived nationally. Quintiles are presented for each domain and for the overall IMD. Population denominators are specially prepared by the Office for National Statistics for the 2025 Indices using the Mid Year Estimates from 2022. LSOA Geography: Leicester Lower Super Output Areas (LSOAs) have an average population of 1850 people, and range from 1200 to 4000 people. There are 200 LSOAs in Leicester.
