Geomagnetically Induced Currents and Earthquakes: Secondary Modulation Rather than Primary Triggering

This dataset contains the processed results, underlying developed model implementation, and associated data used to investigate the influence of geomagnetically induced currents (GIC) on fault-zone shear stress in relation to earthquake events. The analysis is organized on a nine earthquake-event basis and evaluates how solar storm intensity modulates GIC-driven stress variations along fault systems. The Excel file includes the full set of input parameters, derived variables, and computed outputs used in the study. In addition, the spreadsheet embeds the analytical framework and formula-based model developed to estimate GIC-related contributions to shear stress. This structure enables full traceability of the calculations and supports reproducibility of the results presented in the manuscript. For this aim, there is an added test row. No restrictions apply to the use of this dataset. The dataset is directly linked to the manuscript submitted to Space Weather and provides all necessary components for independent verification of the study.
