“The water quality of lakes in Connecticut has historically been assessed by the
CTDEP using best professional judgment as a follow-up to citizen complaints. The CTDEP
possesses a number of lake technical studies (dredging feasibility studies, drainage
studies, and diagnostic/feasibility studies) that were completed by local municipalities and
lake associations using funding provided through the Connecticut Lakes Grant Program. Many
of these reports contain data regarding lake water quality and limnological and watershed
characteristics."
