Microalgae can effectively accumulate starch by nutritional limitation methods for bioalcohol fuel production. However, relatively little studies focused on the starch accumulation in microalgae and its molecular basis, especially under sulfur limitation condition. In this study, the starch accumulation kinetics and physiological responses of Chlorella sorokiniana under sulfur starvation (SS) and sulfur replenishment (SR) conditions were investigated, and factors involved in the transcriptional regulation were explored.
