The article examines the historical stages of the formation of Uzbek dance as an essential component of national artistic culture. The origins of dance art in Central Asia, its development during the pre-Islamic and Islamic periods, the formation of regional schools (Fergana, Bukhara, Khorezm), and the institutionalization of Uzbek stage dance in the 20th century are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the synthesis of tradition and professional stage art, the role of outstanding cultural figures in shaping the national choreographic school, and the influence of socio-historical factors on the evolution of plastic language. The study employs methods of historical and cultural analysis, comparative art studies, and source criticism.
