European Buckthorn Ecology at York University

Measurements of European buckthorn abundance, plant species richness, and ground temperature were taken from 3 different randomized quadrats at York University within each of 3 woodlots: Boyer woodlot, Osgoode woodlot, and Saywell woodlot. Random coordinates from a specified corner of the woodlot were generated via a random number generator on MicrosoftExcel. Replicate measurements were taking on October 1, October 8, and October 15. Outside temperature was measured each day. Approximate percent sunlight coverage for each quadrate was recorded, and any human interactions near the quadrat were recorded. Three observers took all of the measurements.
