Cultural landscape – selected

The dataset shows areas covered by the selected cultural landscape in agriculture. This is a collaboration between agricultural, natural and cultural heritage management in Norway. The work is based on cooperation between landowners and drivers and the government. Selected cultural landscapes in agriculture are a collection of the most valuable cultural landscapes in Norway. The aim of the initiative is to ensure long-term management of a selection of distinctive landscape areas with large biological and cultural historical values that are shaped by long-term and continuous traditional use. The selection of the areas emphasises that they shall, as far as possible, cover cultural landscapes in agriculture with large values related to both biology/natural diversity and cultural history and that it should be realistic to achieve long-term operation, management and maintenance.
