资源简介:
These data were collected as part of a larger arthropod sampling project being conducted at the Robert J Bernard Biological Field Station (BFS), property of the Claremont Colleges, in Claremont, CA, USA. Pitfall trapping was conducted at 40 permanent sites in three major habitat types: (1) coastal sage scrub, (2) non-native grassland, and (3) human-modified/irrigated sites in and around the BFS (including around administrative buildings, nearby private residences, and at the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden, which is directly adjacent to the western edge of the BFS). Sampling was conducted five times between March 29 2013 and March 28 2014 at approximately three month intervals (i.e., once per season: spring, summer, autumn 2013; winter, spring 2014). Ants were separated from the other contents of each pitfall trap using a dissecting microscope and identified to the lowest taxonomic level possible, which was most often to species. All specimens collected in this study are stored in the Bernard Field Station Invertebrate Collection. See Staubus et al. (2015 - J Insect Conserv 19:669-680) for more information.
