Soil map 2021

The soil information on the soil map relates to the nature and composition of the above ground (ground species) with a further subdivision by soil formation, peat species, deviating layers in the profile, presence of lime and disturbances due to excavation and levelling. The map usually does not provide soil information in the urban areas at the time of mapping. New in this version is that all map surfaces linked to “derived profiles” (also called standard profiles or profile sketches). These are representative soil profiles for the units on the bottom map. For all soil units with a rural area of at least 2 000 ha, derived profiles provide information on important characteristics. A total of 367 different soil units have been described with a description of the layer structure up to 1.20 m depth with the soil information per horizont or layer. The national cover digital version is a polygon file on the scale 1:50:000. This is the recording scale of the data and gives the corresponding detail at that scale level (1 cm² on the map = 25 ha in the terrain). Source: Bro-stop shop
