Employment by age and sex; flows 1999-2008

This table provides information on all persons who lived in the Netherlands in at least one of the two years of the described period on the last Friday of September. The table shows the number of people of the population of the Netherlands who are employed or not on the last Friday of September and compare that with the labour market position a year later, on the last Friday of September. The table shows to what extent a year later, employed and inactive persons are still working or not working, or that this labour market position has changed. It is also indicated whether one has emigrated or died during the period. For persons born or immigrated during the period, the labour market position is given at the end of the period. Of the people, only jobs in the Netherlands are counted. In 2006, a new registration of data on jobs and benefits, the so-called police administration, was introduced. This table is based on this new registration since 2006. This could lead to trend breaks between 2005 and 2006. There is a greater chance of this if a smaller group of people is selected. Between 2007 and 2008, the quality of information on labour outflows is questionable for some groups of workers. For this reason, some categories over such flows are not displayed.
