**Overview**
Cloud prices can reveal a lot about activity in the clouds, the cloud providers, semiconductors, workload types, and about regions of the world. This information is invaluable for market intelligence analysts needing a regular pulse of objective data upon which they can rely.

Cloud service providers ("CSP") devote significant resources to accurate pricing of their services. As such, that information provides value for many other companies about different markets. The prices for services vary on many factors, including CSP, workload, and regions. So, objective pricing data can help companies with their own market intelligence needs by leveraging the work the CSPs have already done.

Liftr Insights has been obtaining data on prices and many other factors for over 5 years. During that timeframe, Liftr has not changed its methodology, though it does stay abreast of the regular changes that make obtaining consistent data challenging.

The prices shown are average on-demand prices per hour in US Dollars.

Note that sample data is intentionally older data and does not include all regions.

**Use cases**
- Demand Forecasting
Prices can be leveraged as a guide for regions of the world with higher priced workloads. Over time, data can be used to identify changes which can affect demand.

- Fundamental Analysis
Cloud prices across regions provides insight into differences between cloud service providers and among regions across the globe. Note that the data can be further subdivided to separate out accelerators (e.g., GPUs) and by workload (e.g., Storage Optimized, Memory Optimized).

- Pricing Analysis
Cloud service providers pricing can be compared or contrasted to other pricing across the globe. It could also be used in isolation to compare pricing by CSP, by workload, and by global region. They can be compared individually or combined to see, for example, Memory-Optimized pricing in the Middle East.

- Market Analysis
Evaluating market differences between cloud providers and/or regions across the globe regarding pricing in total or by specific workloads.

**Sample Data**
Note that the sample data shown is older data and is only a fraction of the data. It only includes data for a handful of providers in only two global regions. The full data set will have much more coverage.
