Kikuchi Ryo: Catalogue Raisonné and Exhibition Record 菊池遼 作品総目録および展覧会出品記録

This deposit brings together two related records concerning the works and exhibitions of the Japanese painter Kikuchi Ryo (b. 1991): a catalogue raisonné, organised by work, giving the title, materials, dimensions and year of production of each work from 2014 onward; and an exhibition record, organised by exhibition, giving the title, dates and venue of each exhibition together with the works shown in it. The two are linked by work number. A catalogue raisonné is conventionally compiled by curators, retrospectively, on the occasion of a retrospective exhibition. This deposit is compiled and published by the artist himself, in parallel with his practice, so that information which would otherwise have to be reconstructed after the fact is fixed and made available contemporaneously. It may be used to identify works, to verify exhibition histories, and to trace the development of the practice over time. 美術作家・菊池遼(1991年生)の作品と展覧会に関する2種類の記録。作品を単位とする「作品総目録」と、展覧会を単位とする「展覧会出品記録」からなり、両者は作品番号で対応している。作家の全作品目録は通常、回顧展等の機会に学芸員が事後的に調査・作成するが、本データセットは作家自身が制作と並行して同時代的に記録・公開するものである。
