TIMPS is a dataset of tracked precipitation systems in the tropics derived from NASA's Integrated Multi-satellitE Retrievals for GPM (IMERG) v06B precipitation fields. TIMPS uses the Forward in Time (FiT)Tracking Algorithm and is optimized to track precipitation systems representative of Mesoscale Convective Systems (MCSs). The TIMPS domain is 30N-30S and systems are tracked across 10 years (2011-2020).
