Marine Fisheries and Biological Data

The All-Union Research Institute for Marine Fishing and Oceanography (VNIRO) Marine Fishery and Biological Data Centre collects and holds marine biological data and makes them available to users. Data sets are held on tapes in exchange format. The data holdings can be divided into two files: FILE: Trawl Fishing, Biological Analysis and Total Length Distribution This file consists of biological data from over 1,500 cruises in fishery areas of the World Ocean, since 1974. The principal parameters are space time characteristics of cruise research, biological analysis characteristics, species representativity of fish, total length distribution, abiotic factors, trawl fishing characteristics, fishing quantification. FILE: Drift-line and Seine-net Fishing Studies Drift-line and Seine-net fishing data from about 40 individual cruises (from 1984 to the present) include incomplete biological analysis, ichthyoplankton gathering, and biological analysis of krill. The principal parameters are space-time characteristics, species representativity of hydrobiont, characteristics of concentrations, ichthyoplankton, biological analysis of krill and Cephalopods, abiotic factors, drift-line and seine-net fishing characteristics, fishing quantification.
