资源简介:
Under section 3 of the Act, any public gaol could be gazetted as a "lock hospital", in which prisoners certified as suffering from, a contagious disease (often venereal disease) could be detained. A section of Darlinghurst Gaol appears to have served this purpose prior to 25 August 1909, when the State Reformatory for Women, Long Bay was opened. This volume seems to have been kept at Darlinghurst, and transferred to Long Bay when the Reformatory was opened (see NRS 2506). The details given include date received, date re-sentenced, date discharged, and brief details of treatment. (5/2226 part). 1 vol (part). Note: This description is extracted from Concise Guide to the State Archives of New South Wales, 3rd Edition 2000.
