Abstract: Moderately volatile elements (MVEs) are more robust than their highly volatile counterparts. The quantification of highly volatile elements in some lunar material has spurred questions on the retention or loss of volatiles. The MVEs are a geologic tracer of high-temperature degassing events and have shown that the late-stage lunar magama ocean lost volatiles. This event has been interpreted to be a crustal breaching impact.
