Multi-isotope and infrared data from Late Bronze Age - Early Iron Age Herstal and Court-Saint-Etienne, Belgium

The dataset includes infrared, radiocarbon, carbon, oxygen, and strontium isotope data from 174 cremated human bones from two Belgian Late Bronze Age - Early Iron Age cemeteries, Herstal and Court-Saint-Etienne. Five different skeletal elements were sampled per individual whenever possible: crania, diaphyses, ribs, teeth, and the inner cortex (IC) of the otic capsule of the petrous part. This dataset highlights the added value of sampling both the IC of the petrous part and the teeth for reconstructing life histories, mobility and food consumption patterns, as well as funerary practices.
